Released in 1997 in three parts in issues 3-4, 5-6 and 7 of Weekly Shonen Jump. Tokimecha was one of Akira Toriyama's post-DB work. The story follows a young girl by the name of Tai who manages to create a "Tokimecha", a machine that allows her to travel back in time where she meets a young caveboy by the name of Muu. Wacky hijinx quickly ensues when this girl of the modern age learns that life in the stone age can be savage and terrifying.

On the planet Earth, its been 60 years since a destructive meteor impact. The protagonist of this story is Lifa, a 14 year old girl who has lost her memory in their family restaurant but has recorded works. After the incident in which a Shadow attacked a plane which led to its destruction, as well as the demise of all the passengers onboard, Lifa ended up as the primary suspect. For that matter, both the US government and a secret organization had placed poor Lifa on their blacklist and are hunting her down. At first, Lifa is totally hopeless of surviving the dangers but luckily, some mysterious ladies appear to the rescue.

It is now her chance to stop the thirst for uncontrollable power of the Dominator Empire. Soon, she is joined by other mecha pilots in this crazy quest to oppose an entire Empire.

Universal Century 0079. Earth. An E.F.S.F soldier awaits the arrival of a new Captain only to learn the ship has been brought down by Zeon forces. The soldiers begin the search on the Rust Horizon, unknown of what awaits them.

An official Japanese manga adaptation for the series was written by Atsushi Baba and serialized in Monthly Comic Zero Sum. As of 2006, Baba has finished development of Episode I's adaptation and is currently working on Episode II.
